That must have been where I went wrong. I didn’t look for someone who invents video games for a living. To get straight to the point: Yes, I tried the online dating thing – with the feeble excuse that it would be a good way to meet new people. I had just moved to another country after all. Carbs And The Appeal Of Foreign Supermarkets
13 MarWhat is it that makes foreign supermarkets so appealing? After 2.5 months in London, I still feel urged to try everything on offer. Well, everything containing carbs, sugar and empty calories, that is. We all know that feeling, right?! Stepping into a foreign supermarket and getting all excited about the aisles and aisles of ‘new’ food to explore? Continue reading

Little Country Bumpkin Me
8 MarAnyone who’s read the ‘About’ section of my blog knows that I originally hail from a picturesque, but tiny Dutch village with more cows than people as inhabitants. Needless to say, I grew up knowing almost everyone there and Queen’s Day, the yearly fancy fair and summer parties were events well worth looking forward to. That said, having travelled a fair bit, I assumed moving to London would be a doddle. Nothing would faze me. I’d seen it all, remember? Well, think again… Continue reading

PA Wants A Manager
10 SepI wonder if this tv show format would work as corporates answer to, oooooh let’s say, Farmer Wants A Wife. Come to think of it, my current manager and my father would probably rather see me as a contestant on the Dutch version of the latter in the hopes of keeping me in Holland. And in my father’s opinion, there’s hardly a better match than a down to earth, hardworking (his words), strong and handsome (my words) farmer. Continue reading
Decluttering
4 SepFor those of you who watched one too many episodes of Trash to Cash: no, I’m not that bad. But especially my family knows that one of my special talents is collecting clutter. Unfortunately, I haven’t inherited the tidy gene from my grandmother and mum. Continue reading
