It’s London Calling

22 Aug

Right, here goes. Practically decided about moving to London and I. Am. Terrified. Like I haven’t been dreaming of living abroad for the last 10 years. Why this panic?

  1. I hate goodbyes. And it’s as if the universe is ganging up on me to show my life here to its best advantage. Every party is great fun, my tiny flat is suddenly my palace, colleagues can’t do anything to annoy me (“Of course I’ll show you how to use the printer. Yet again…” Cue friendly smile).
  2. I am a dreamer. Ever since I could read I’ve been stuck with my nose in some book and preferably chick lit at that. Same goes for films: the cheesier a romantic comedy, the better (honestly, I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve seen The Wedding Planner). And so I think my life should be bigger, better and brighter.

Will I find that in London? I don’t know. Will it all be easy? No. Will I miss home? Yes. Will it be a once in a lifetime experience with loads of new opportunities and friends? Definitely!

Well, it’s decided. London is calling. Any good jobs going?
